Innkeeper Janet Loewenstein moved to Wellfleet from Brooklyn, New York where she had lived for a number of years. As much as she loved New York City, Janet realized that she was spending far more time making a living than living her life. After taking a few years to research and prepare for her new career (not to mention almost 16 months spent searching for just the right house!) she relocated to Wellfleet to open The Stone Lion Inn. Not wanting to leave Brooklyn entirely behind, each room was named for one of the Brooklyn neighborhoods where Janet either worked or lived. One of the lovely surprises of innkeeping has been discovering how many of her guests also have ties to Brooklyn and hearing their stories.

We feature three room types:- The Park Slope, Williamsburg and Greenpoint Rooms are Regular Queen rooms each with en-suite bathroom with shower.
- Our Clinton Hill Room is a Deluxe Queen room with en-suite bathroom featuring a claw foot tub with shower inside, plus a private deck.
- The Apartment features a private entrance, sleeping loft with queen bed up a spiral stair, kitchenette with microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker, living & dining area, large bathroom/dressing room; radio/cd player, television, video deck.
All rooms and the apartment include the following amenities:

- Glycerin bar soap plus Spa liquid soap, shampoo and lotion

- Air Conditioner (in the warmer months)

1 Memorial Day weekend (May 28 - 30) rates are higher and a 3-night minimum applies.
2 Oyster Festival weekend (October 15 & 16) rates are higher, a 2-night minimum is required and there is a stricter cancellation policy.
3 Thanksgiving weekend (November 24 - 27) rates are higher and a 2-night minimum stay is required.
Queen and Deluxe Queen Rooms can accommodate up to two (2) adults sharing the queen size bed. We we do not have cots or rollaway beds, nor can we permit use of air mattresses or sleeping bags to accommodate additional guests.
Rates do not include state and local occupancy tax of 9.7%.* The Apartment can accommodate one (1) additional person, age 5 and over, for an additional charge of $25/night. We cannot accommodate children under the age of five.
